With it, you have the beginning of agency.

Q2.   What framework did you inherit for understanding your own sexuality — shame and restriction, permission and indulgence, or genuine philosophical formation? If the answer is neither of the last two, what is missing from your formation, and what would it take to supply it? The Indian tradition offers resources here that most people who grew up in it have never been given access to. What would change if you actually read what Vatsyayana was saying?

Q5. Why do religions restrict women’s sexuality specifically?

The mechanism is primarily biological before it is spiritual: patriarchal inheritance systems require certainty about biological fatherhood. A man can never know with absolute certainty that a child is his; women always know. Before DNA testing (available only from the 1980s), the only way to manage paternity uncertainty in a patrilineal inheritance system was to control female sexual access.
